Here’s the scene: I got up early enough to see the crispness of the morning shine through my living room window, Bon Iver IS playing, a candle with the title “Autumn Hayride” spontaneously lights. I look to the center of my dining room table and yes, there’s a medley of pumpkins that must have snuck in in the middle of the night. (Not really, I keep my doors locked) Pay no mind to the cinnamon broom from @sprouts in the corner making my nostrils tingle with excitement every time I walk by it. Any way, you get my morning, maybe you’re having a similar one? I truly hope you are, this is bliss. This is 2020, and if we aren’t enjoying a new season that brings holiday’s, cozy food, a change in the weather, flannels, booties and pumpkin spice syrup then what are we enjoying??

The one ingredient to my morning that really brought my miniature fall celebration to life was the Pumpkin Spice syrup. And here’s the thing, it really doesn’t get enough hype and I will tell you why. There is so many delightful things to do with this bottle of sweet and spicy fall nectar. I’m talking cocktails, hot chocolate, milks, sodas, juices, baked goodies, of course the iconic PSL and MORE. SO that is why i’m here. To tell you why you need this in your life this fall.

I infuse our house syrup with real pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, pure maple, and vanilla bean. It’s rich, spicy, straight to the pumpkin spice point with real flavors and ingredients.

COCKTAILS

Because it’s 2020 I figured we’d start with cocktails??

You can turn any classic cocktail into a fall delight with a bit of the pumpkin spice syrup. However below are some of my favorites.

The Mimosa

You’ll need Champagne, Spiced Apple Cider, and our Pumpkin Spice Syrup.

1 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup

1 oz Spiced Apple Cider

Fill the bottom of your coupe or flute with Syrup and Apple Cider. Fill the rest with your choice of champagne. Orange, cinnamon and rosemary garnish (see below)

The Moscow Mule

This may be my favorite on the entire list. You can really have fun with this cocktail and tailor it to fit what you enjoy! Pumpkin spice and ginger beer are really the power couple here, move over PSL. Leave out the alcohol and enjoy this flavorful fall soda! Or add any alcohol of your choosing, they are all delicious!

Start with your Moscow Mule Mug, or cocktail glass of your choosing.

2 oz of tequila (my choice!), vodka, bourbon or spiced rum.

1.5 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup

8 oz ginger beer

Ice

Combine all ingredients in a glass. Stir to mix. Serve with garnish below or a squeeze of orange.

Pumpkin Spice OLD Fashioned

This is your 7pm, just got finished with dinner and you need to unwind with a strong, spicy, delicious cocktail. It only requires a few ingredients and it is everything.

2 oz bourbon

1/2 oz pumpkin spice

2-3 dashes of orange bitters

Orange Peel studded with cloves

A boozy cherry (if you happen to have those around)

Large ice cube.

Combine Bitters and Syrup in the bottom of cocktail glass. Add bourbon. Run peel of orange around the rim of glass, and twist to release oils into the drink. Add ice. Stir. add 4-5 cloves to orange peel for aroma and garnish, drop into glass along with cherry. Enjoy.

Pumpkin SPICE White Russian

This cocktail is DESSERT !! Creamy, sweet and packed with a vodka punch.

3 oz vodka

2 oz Cream (can use coconut cream)

1.5 oz pumpkin spice syrup

1.5 oz Kahlua

Graham crackers, sugar, whipped cream and pumpkin spice for garnish.

Mix together 1 cup crushed graham cracker, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice together in shallow dish. Dip Martini or cocktail glass rim in honey and then in graham cracker mixture to create the rim. In cocktail shaker add all ingredients + ice. Shake well, pour into to glass with ice (optional). Top with whipped cream and sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Cheers!

GARNISH

What is a cocktail without an adorable, aromatic, garnish to appreciate while you sip????

This garnish is my favorite for fall drinks. It’s beautiful. and smells phenomenal.

All you need is an orange, rosemary sprigs and cinnamon sticks. All can be found at your local grocery store. Slice the orange, take one orange slice and stick the cinnamon stick through the hole in the center. Once the cinnamon stick is in the center, thread the rosemary sprig through. and that’s all! Dollop on top of any fall inspired drink.

Non Alcoholic Drinks

From delicious coffee’s to infused milk for a sweet treat, we have you covered for your morning delight or something for the kiddo’s!

PSL or pscb or psfp or psic

(Pumpkin Spice Latte) (Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew) (Pumpkin Spice French Press) (Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee)

What all of these have in common: Pumpkin Spice and Coffee! The hype is real, I get it! It’s just so easy to make at home that you won’t need to wait in a long lines for the iconic fall bev. Unless you’re at Sweet Dee’s and want a fall treat to go with, then that makes sense ;)

Latte! if you have a method of making espresso at home then you are in luck for this one. All you need is the syrup, 2 shots of espresso and milk. I love being able to taste the espresso so my perfect ratio is 2 shots of espresso to about 6-8 oz of milk. But make yours to your taste! (I.e. add ice to make an iced latte, add more milk (or milk alternatives! the syrup is naturally dairy free so everyone can enjoy! Steam the milk or simmer in a pot on the stove for a hot latte and you control how sweet you’d like it with how much syrup you are putting in)

Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew and Iced coffee are quite similar as well! You can either make your own and keep it in the fridge or your local grocery store has amazing brands of cold brew and iced coffee. Add 2 oz of syrup, iced coffee or cold brew, ice and a splash of cream.

The French press is just delightful if you have time to make it in the morning. Combine your ground coffee with 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice. Add hot water and let the coffee and spices steep together for 5-10 minutes. You can also add whole cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, etc. to the coffee grounds. Let those flavors brew together.

Once it’s ready, strain and pour with our pumpkin spice syrup and some milk or cream.

Miscellaneous Drinks

Pumpkin Spice Hot cHOCOLATE

Easy as pumpkin pie! Take your favorite hot chocolate recipe and add our pumpkin spice syrup in! Add a little fall twang to your chocolate! Works well in white hot chocolate too!

PumPKIN spICE sODA

Essentially just carbonated fall in a glass! If you don’t want a cocktail this is a great substitute.

8 oz club soda

2 oz pumpkin pie syrup

2 oz spiced apple cider

Combine all ingredients in a glass with ice. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Milk

This is adorable for the kids! You can use any milk you like. I used almond milk for these! I got the little milk bottles and plastic straws from amazon to really bring the experience home. You can use any glass and no straw if you’d like too :)

Add pumpkin spice to milk and stir. Served warm or cold..

What else can i do with pumpkin spice syrup?

Let me tell YOU!

Having French toast or pumpkin pancakes? Drizzle the syrup over your sweet breakfasts and watch them come to life!

Spice up any baked goods by brushing this simple syrup over the top of them. Cakes, breads, cupcakes, cookies and more! It adds flavor and moisture into them.

Add the syrup into frostings or glazes before you decorate your fall bakes! Enhances any “vanilla bean” recipe.

Our House made syrup will be available for purchase in-store beginning September 22nd! You can also find it in our Hello Fall package available on our online shop. If you make any of these cocktails or beverages, tag me in your photos so I can see!
